Transforming the reality of the ordinary into the otherworldly is a recurring theme in much of my work, as it is in this series of images. The subject matter, in this case milk, is not recognized as such, and instead becomes ethereal and celestial. Milk feeds and sustains. It’s the long awaited nourishment after the origin of life in the womb. In these photographs, milk is life itself, in the form of undiscovered cosmic realms, birthing heavens, embryonic beings.

During a painstaking process of shooting, resetting and repeating, thousands of images were captured in order to achieve these results. The use of post-production editing is kept to a minimum as I strive to maintain the purity of the in-camera image, to happen upon the magical and simply magnify its beauty.
